Proposed AnswerCommunicator won't sync address book during trial of OCS

    I am using the trial period of the MS ONLINE service of Communications Server and right now just using the communicator and Outlook part for IM/Presence testing.

    I can log into Communicator but it will not sync the address book in Outlook using the xxxxx.microsoftonline.com account that is resideing on my local pc. So i can't import the 5 other test accounts that do show up in the address book.

    Hello,

     

    Can you clarify this issue?

     

    You are logged into the Service Client which you have used to configure both Outlook 2007 and Communicator, and although you can view your 5 users in the GAL / OAB within Outlook:

    The user cannot be found when searched in Communicator in the "Type a name" field.
    Or

    The user is not automatically displaying as a Communicator  Contact List?

    The user is not automatically displaying... I did get them to show but only after I added manually today.

    Hello,
     
    Communicator contacts list does not sync with the GAL, so users should not automatically appear in the contact list.
    Communicator does sync with the online OCO contacts list however, so you should not have to add them more than once for your user. This means if you log into a new PC for the first time and configure Communicator, the address list you previously created from another PC should be there.
