AnswerOffice Communicator 2007 R2 has stopped working

    I'm using BPOS. Everything installed fine. I'm using W7 RC Office 2007
    Also using Microsoft Sign In.
    After donwloading and installing Office Communicator 2007 R2 the program starts up, stops with error Microsft Office Communicator 2007 R2 has stopped working. Start up again and stops again .... this continues till I close the program.
    Any help would be nice

    Hi

    I did a clean Vista SP 2 install. No other programs then Office 2007 SP2 and Sihn In for BPOS. (all English versions)
    INstalled Communicator and still having the same problem.
    After I sign in the program hangs after a minute or two.
    Error: Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 has stopped working

    If I don't sign in, there's no problem!

    Any help would be nice

    Hi Paul,

    It would be best to open a support ticket for this through MOAC.  Please try and include any details from the information that Windows provides.  Note you can find more details if look at the reliability report of your machine.  You can then double click on one of the OC crash items and it should show you quite a bit of detail, which you can include in the support ticket.

    As a note the problem is likely to be related to the process that OC goes through to connect to Exchange, this is why you see it start up ok, then stop after sometime as the background process of connecting to Exchange fails.

    Hi

    the problem has been solved.
    I installed the hotfix KB 972042 and that worked.
    And yes, it was related to the process to connect to exchange.
