Wacom Bamboo and ONENOTE

I have received a Bamboo pen and pad for christmas to help take notes for school. I was able to write notes on the bamboo paper but as soon as i open onenote it either does not write or only recognizes one letter. this is frustrating because i know this two programs work great together. So my question to you is really how do you use it in Onenote. I have terrible handwriting and being able to change this to text would be great. I start class next week and could use website instruction, how tos, anything that can get me ready to take notes my last semester in school.
Please help This is a very difficult topic to google because it apparently is easy to do!
I run windows 7 64bit professional and office 2010 pro too
