Please add the Microsoft Templates to Sharepoint online.
- I'm a bit surprised that the Microsoft Online service doesn't support it's own developed and deployed SharePoint templates. I've requested support add them to my SharePoint server but was denied. It seems obvious to me that Microsoft would deploy it's own template library on the SharePoint Online service...but that's not the case. Please bump if you feel the same.

I just thought I'd chime in here to say we hear you. Unfortunately, those templates were designed with SharePoint on premises in mind and they don't all translate well to our multi-tenant environment. We are looking at opitons to enable some of these templates with the eventual goal of getting them all deployable to SharePoint Online.
That said, keep posting to this thread if it's of interest. The squeaky wheel does indeed get the oil.
- I agree as well. Not only those but other templates as well "please". Basically, the first thing I wanted to do was install an Employee Scheduling template. Now it sounds like for the first thing I want to do I hit a dead end.
Without templates, sharepoint becomes much less effective. The whole purpose of this service is for it to be easy to use. If we need to go back and customize everything and can't use templates and have to install sharepoint locally to get basic features, it negates the whole purpose for having sharepoint online.
I really like the service, but lack of basic things like templates, and in exchange (reply-as one of your aliases) makes for a very dampened and unfortunate initial user experience. Agreed.
The addition of template support would go a long way towards making the BPOS a viable, long-term solution as opposed to an inexpensive way to get started.- If your employee scheduling template doesn't require custom code, you can still deploy it. You just can't create root site collections using it. But once deployed to a site colleciton, you can create sub webs that use the template.
- Are there specific templates that you would find most valuable? If we could add just one template, what should that one template be? A prioritized list of templates would help us drive this addition to the service.
Also, what issues can't be solved by deploying templates to subsites? - I'll vote for this too
Thanks - I would like to see you install the Sales Pipeline application template. I'm coming over from a different vendor (Apptix) and they have all the template available for my use. Are you telling me I made a mistake by signing up with Microsoft to run thier own products. It appears that you have an inferior service offering. What's up with that?

I aslo think the Help Desk template would be VERY helpfull.- I absolutely vote for this. Not having the templates for SharePoint makes BPOS a lot less appetizing.
Troy... in reference to your comment: Do you have a link with any instructions to adding a template to MicrosoftOnline? Are there specific templates that you would find most valuable? 2. Knowledge Base
3. Project Tracking Workspace
4. Inventory Tracking

Any updates on this? I agree with folks here - the inability of a client to leverage something already provided by MSFT should be addressed ASAP.

- Al least 20 of the 40 Fab40 templates can be installed by admins. The app templates however can't.
