John is correct. At this time vanity domains are not offered as part of SharePoint Online Standard. For large enterprises, SharePoint Online Dedicated is an option that does support vanity domains. Though there is a 5,000 seat minimum so I realize this isn't a valid option for everyone.

We've defenitely heard you and others. We're looking to offer this feature in the future.

Unfortunately to my knowledge that is currently not possible with SharePointOnline. Even if you add a domain that you own to your MSO account and create users in that domain, you currently cannot create SharePointOnline sites with that domain. You may be able to create some aliases in your DNS that could redirect users from usa.com to usa1-sharepoint.microsoftonline.com (or a similar SharePointOnline URL), but you can't change the actual URL to a path within your joined domain.

That being said, this is a request that a lot of customers have been requesting, and I believe it will be coming in a future release of the SharePointOnline platform. I would recommend keeping an eye on information about changes to MSO, BPOS, and SharePointOnline as a part of the Office 2010 wave of products, that's going to be the next major update to the service and a likely point in the release cycle where this feature could be included.

The only other option is to use a web server to perform either server or meta tag refresh redirects.
The URL will not be changed, but the URL that the end-user has to enter in the browser will be whatever you set it up for.

The only other option is a CNAME redirect, but this causes certificate errors in the browser.
