    Hi,

I would like verify how wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe is installed, is it deployed by System Center product?

What Operating System is running? It will help verifying the current situation and then provide suggestions. Thank you.

I would like to add that I have the same exact situation. My Operating system is Windows 7 64bit. The file I am using is wmp11-windowsxp-x64-enu.exe. It is a new virtual machine installation from MSDN. The host computer is a 64 bit Windows 7 OS. Thanks

Ok - At least for Windows 7N 64 bit I know the answer. For the MSDN install Windows 7N is a version that does not come with Windows Media Player. So I have to download the version specific for this version. I had to download Windows6.1-KB968211-x64.msu. This worked for me.
