Widgets - Dashboards

I am not understanding this Widget business very well.
The aim is to create a Dashboard View, where one of the panes is an Alert View.
The criteria to meet are: All Alerts with a New Resolution state and with a Specific Name (Failed to Connect to Computer) name.
I can create an isolated Alert View which works fine.
But can someone pls help me create the same view in a Dashboard using the Widgets??
Thx,
John Bradshaw

Thx Chandan,
Unfortunately none of the references address the question I have, as far as I can see.
Is there anyone else who has found a way to do this?
Thx

Hi John,
MS dropped support for embedding existing views into dashboards in SCOM 2012. They now provide these widgets which aren't really that feature rich as their view counter parts. I'm afraid in 2012 you cannot create a dashboard like this anymore unless MS (or someone else) is providing a widget which is capable to filter alerts that way.
One workaround may exist, depending on your infrastructure:
I've created and released a widget which allows you to embed a web page URL: http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Web-View-Widget-Management-0d14bd0a
You could create the alert view and embed the view using the URL to the view from the web console into your dashboard.
This requires you to have access to the SCOM web console from the machine running the console.
Not perfect, but it may work.
cheers,

I've had a requirement to create OpsMgr 2007 R2 style dashboards in OpsMgr 2012 as well and have blogged on an approach which works to achieve this at: http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/cfuller/archive/2012/10/08/creating-opsmgr-2007-r2-style-dashboard-views-in-opsmgr-2012-scom-sysctr.aspx. High level I created a dashboard pack for OpsMgr 2007 R2 which you can import and then copy the OpsMgr 2007 R2 style dashboards to use them in your OpsMgr 2012 environment.Cameron
