Dears,
I have the following critical error in SCOM 2012 - this error is for SCOM Server it self:
Source: SCOM Server Name
Alert Role: Agent Proxy not enabled
Alert Desciption:
The agent was not able to submit data on behalf of another
computer because agent proxy is not enabled. Details:Health service (
) should not generate data about this managed object (
Microsoft.Windows.DNSServer.Library.DNSDomain ).Summary:
This alert indicates that an Operations Manager agent attempted to discover
or generate data about an object that resides on another computer. This is not
allowed by default, but is sometimes required for proper monitoring. For
example, the agent might be running as part of a cluster, and trying to discover
the virtual cluster node. The agent will not be able to do this until agent proxy is
enabled.Case:
It may be completely valid for the agent to discover objects
residing on another computer. You must review the details of the alert
description to determine if the agent should be configured with proxying.Resolution:
If you have reviewed that the agent should be able to discover and send data
on behalf of another computer, you should enable proxying for that agent:• Go to the Administration space in the Operations Manager
Console• Find the agent in the Agent Managed view
• Open Properties for that agent
• In the Security tab, check the Allow this agent to
act as a proxy option• Click OK
From My Side, I have done this configuration:
Administration > Device management > Management Server > Right Click the SCOM Server > Properties>
Q1 - Is this Configuration is Enough? (coz I am still reciving the same critical severity enable proxy on management server)!!
Q2 - Should I make SCOM 2012 Server as agentless?
Q3 - What I have to add here (Domain Controller? or SCOM Management Servers? or what?
Q4 - In Management server > in the meddile window for my MS Server Client Monitoring Mode is Disabled, What is this for?
Q5- what is the impact when Client Monitoring Mode is disabled?
Thanks

Hi
"Details:Health service (XXXX) should not generate data about this managed object(YYYY )."
Which server is listed as XXXX? Is it the management server or another server. Is this a Domain Controller? You need to enable agent proxy for that specific server:
2) Should I make SCOM 2012 Server as agentless? NO.
3) What I have to add here (Domain Controller? or SCOM Management Servers? or what? You don't need to do anything on the AutoAgent Assignment Window. You need to follow the instructions in the error message and on the blog. Go to the final tab - Agent Proxy.
4) and 5) Please ignore. They have nothing to do with this error message. The previous response explains what they do.
Cheers
Graham
