Hello,
I have two Windows Server 2008 Cluster environment with two nodes each and the %Processor Time% view in SCOM is always flat..
Any idea?
It is not that it does not display as I don not get the message "No Performance counter is selected" but it remains flat...
What did I miss for this type of server?
Target: Microsoft Windows Serverr 2008 Enterprise
Object: Processor
Counter% Processot Time
Instance: Total
Thanks,
Dom

Hello Graham,
This rule is enabled and the counter is displayed but always flat at 0???
for the two nodes of the clusters... these are exchange servers with about 4500 mailbox on each so there should be activities...
Thanks,
Dom

Hello,
I noticed this error in the Operations manager event log:
Log Name: Operations Manager Source: Health Service Modules Date: 3/18/2013 9:43:57 AM Event ID: 10102 Task Category: None Level: Warning Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: BOPMB8SCCA.ad
Description: In PerfDataSource, could not resolve counter Processor Information, % Processor Time, _Total. Module will not be unloaded. One or more workflows were affected by this. Workflow name: Microsoft.Windows.Server.2008.OperatingSystem.TotalPercentProcessorTime.Collection Instance name: Microsoftr Windows Serverr 2008 Enterprise Instance ID: {D93FDC24-F5D9-FEBE-B080-6F9F9D0F4412} Management group: SCOM-MED
Could it be a reason something did not get picked? the counter is showing but always 0?
Thanks,

Hi Dom
As per my previous response - this is a known issue with the Management Pack. The Processor Information counter does not exist on Windows Server 2008 (only on 2008 R2).
Kevin Holman also explains more here:
For Windows Server 2008, you can create the performance collection rule:

Windows Computer:
Server A (Windows Server 2008) > Performance View I don't see my rule available yet ...
Still watching after 6 hours aparently I got it
