Hi Nic,
I was follwing the same steps that are mentioned in the link http://blogcastrepository.com/blogs/francoisd/archive/2008/09/22/scom-2007-how-to-raise-alerts-using-wmi-event-rule-and-get-the-desired-variable-in-alert-description.aspx -------- on the same lines , i would say that if we need to create WMI events provider and the WMI Numeric events provider than we need to create a new rule from authoting pane and thats when we would be able to create WMI events provider. Please confirm if this assumption is correct?.
Thanks,

Hi,Thank you for your update.
The WMI providers for OpsMgr objects is not available in SCOM 2007. Therefore, I would suggest you try creating WMI event rules or monitors and see if it can meet your requirements. For details, please also refer to:

Based on my understanding, they are not available in SCOM 2007 R2, either. Please also see:What's New in the Operations Manager 2007 R2 SDK
