Outlook 2010 - No Follow Up Options
-
Wednesday, February 16, 2011 12:09 AMHello. I am using Outlook 2010. I want to flag an email with a reminder. Under "Follow Up" I only have the option to "Flag the Message", not the other reminder settings. If I do flag, I cannot find a way to manually change the reminder date of the flag. I understand I should have a drop down menu under "Follow Up" that has a range of options, like follow up tomorrow, next week, custom etc. How can I get this back?

Hi,
For your issue, I recommend you trying to create a new outlook profile to test this issue.
1.Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2.Double-click the Mail icon.
3.In the Mail Setup dialog box, click Show Profiles.
If you want to be able to select a specific profile each time you start Outlook, click the General tab, click Prompt for a profile to be used, and then click Add.
4.In the New Profile dialog box, under Profile Name, type a descriptive name for the new profile, and then click OK.
5.In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, select Add a new e-mail account in the e-mail options, and then click Next.
6.Click the type of server that your e-mail account works with, and then click Next.
7.Complete all of the required fields, including those that are on the tabs that appear after you click More Settings.
8.When you finish providing the required information, click Finish.
Hope it does help.
Sincerely,
Harry

Thursday, February 17, 2011 10:59 PMThanks, Harry. I have been through that process, but the new mail profile still only wants to let me use the default flag - i.e. still don't have the drop down options for tomorrow, next week etc.

cntrl-shft-G does work, apparently. However, I have the same issue in 2010 with emails when hitting the flag icon in the ribbon (the calendaring of flags appears to work fine with contacts). This is more than a bit annoying.
Any further thoughts or a patch for this issue?

This is because you are using an IMAP account which doesn't support flag reminders.
