Syncing Droid with Outlook Contact Issue
-
Saturday, May 05, 2012 3:52 PMI have a cascio Commando Droid that I have set up to sync with my exchange server. All emails and calendar events sync perfectly. However, my contacts do not. It is very strange if I add a contact on my phone it will sync and add it to my outlook contacts. However, If I add a contact to outlook and then sync with my phone it WILL NOT send it to the phone. In addition, if I create a contact on the phone it, as I said, will add it to my outlook contacts... if I then edit the contact in outlook and re sync the phone overwrites the edits that I did in outlook. there must be a setting that I am missing.... I am assuming in Outlook because I have searched all over the telephone and cannot find any other settings on the phone related to syncing.....Please help

When configure your phone with Exchange, there is an option need to be enabled
Sync contacts from this account If you select this option, your contacts will be synchronized between your phone and your account.
Although it is enabled by default, is there any chance you have it disabled?
See steps 5 in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/exchangelabshelp/dd940179
After you have finished the configuration, you can still find the setting from Settings > Accounts & Sync, click to select your account under Manage accounts > click Account settings > under Incoming settings, make sure Sync Contacts option has been enabled.
And, the sync behavior is between your phone and the Exchange Server, nothing to do with Outlook.

Double checked.... it is set to sync the contacts and for that matter the Calendar (which again works perfectly). I cannot for the life of me find any other setting on the phone. I use the term outlook and exchange server interchangeably, (although I should'nt) is there any setting on the exchange server that might be preventing this. Is there any program on my computer that manages the sync or is it all on the phone?
I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help.
