HELP!
I've used microsoft outlook 2010 (and previous versions) for the last 15 yrs. As of 2 months ago, simultaneously with verizon's change in Port numbers, I am no longer able to get my emails in outlook. Verizon was of no help. They even logged into my computer, removed and then setup a new account... and still unable to log in.
We setup new passwords, new accounts.. nothing
I get the following message:
Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
any ideas .. i'm totally at a loss here

What’s your network environment you are current in? Home network or Enterprise network? If you are in Enterprise, better to connect your IT support if any specified port denied by firewall.
Please follow their official website and double-check if the account setting is correct first:
Please specially note the “Update Outlook 2010” section.
And please also temporary turn off your personal firewall/anti-virus apps, especially mail scanner module to check the result.
Thanks.

Monday, May 21, 2012 11:29 AMthanks Tony, this is a home, single computer running Windows. I did follow the official thread and even had the Verizon techs trying to figure it out (once via phone only and the second time they took over my comp[uter to try and fix. BUT I did not try turning off McAfee.. do I do this only during the email setup and test?
