SharePoint 2010: 3 Server Farm: Search: Returning No Results!

I am working on a newly deployed SharePoint farm. It is a 3 server setup; with a seperate SQL, application and web front end.
I have configured the crawl schedules and kicked off the initial crawls successfully (crawl logs displaying all newly added content).
The query component of the search service application (plus a mirror) has been assigned to the assigned to the web front end.
When I perform a search on a site collection that has been crawled no results are returned.
I have successully setup a number of 2 server farms (sql + single sharepoint server) and search has worked a treat.
Has anyone got any ideas about any configuration I may be missing, or ways I can diagnose this problem.
Looking forward to your replies!!

I have been trawling the logs and have found the following error a couple of times. Any clues any clues anybody?
05/27/2010 12:57:13.35 w3wp.exe (0x1078) 0x1434 SharePoint Server Search Query Processor g2j3 High AuthzInitializeContextFromSid failed with ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED. This error indicates that the account under which this process is executing may not have read access to the tokenGroupsGlobalAndUniversal attribute on the querying user's Active Directory object. Query results which require non-Claims Windows authorization will not be returned to this querying user. d1487502-e253-480a-803f-0811c884b89a

I suspect I am having a similar issue to yours - do you have a trust in place?
In my scenario, my farm is in the domain SERVER, and the users are in the domain ACCOUNT (which are also in separate forests). SERVER trusts ACCOUNT, but not the other way around.
I am able to get search results when I hit the site as a SERVER user, but not an ACCOUNT user.
This blog post implies that the search service account needs some permissions to query the users, which I have no idea how you would do that in a one-way trust scenario: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/russmax/archive/2010/01/20/why-the-tokengroupsglobalanduniversal-tggau-attribute-matters-in-sharepoint-2010.aspx
