AnswerAdd profile property

I am trying to add an additional property into SharePoint. It is currently in AD and I want to bring it over into SharePoint.

On this admin page, /ssp/admin/_layouts/EditProperty.aspx under the section Property Import Mapping I do not have the drop downs for "Data source field to map" or "Enter field to map". I only have a dropdown for "Source Data Connection" and this has one entry called "Master Connection"

My daily import from AD has been configured and running for the longest time. I just need to add an additional field.  My profile import status is currently "Idle - Completed" so it is running when it should.

Is this a permissions thing? If so, what permissions in AD does the Default Access Account need to have?

    thanks

    Hi ChrisB2305,

The content access account needs to have read access to the directory or directories that you want to import data from.

You could use a higher privileged account and verify whether your issue is resolved.

If I understand correctly, the import process runs very slow (running for the longest time), please check the connection between the SharePoint server and the AD, and if possible, try to Specify a domain controller in User Profile and Properties > Manage Connections > Edit Connection.

If you import the users from other domains, please also make sure the domain trusts are set correctly.

If the above suggestions are not helpful, please let me know your domain architecture for further research.

Hope the information can be helpful.
