Content Type Columsn not being added to a libraryI have a Site Content type, let call its SCT  ,  whose parent is Document, and the site content type contains several columns (most are hidden as they should only be set in workflows). I have two document libraries A &amp; B using this site content type and they both automatically inherited all of the site content types columns. <div><br/></div> <div>Now I want to create anothe library, C,  that uses this SCT. Steps as follows 1) Create Library 2) Allow management of Content Types 3) Add the content type via 'Add from existing site content type'.  The colums from SCT do not appear in my library's list of columns.</div> <div><br/></div> <div>If I look at the settings of A or B and click on the SCT site content type I see the definition of SCT List Content Type with all its defined colums inherited from the SCT site content type. If I look as the settings of Document Library C I see the definition of SCT List Content type with NONE of the defined colums inherited from SCT Site Content type.</div> <div><br/></div> <div>If I add a new column to SCT then this appears in all libraries A B and C. Only the previously created columsn are not being picked up.</div> <div><br/></div> <div>Does anyone know how I can get libraries to pick the the columns from the site content type? If I create a new site content type and repeat steps It works fine.</div> <div><br/></div> <div>Note - Using SharePoint Services 3.0</div> <div>Thanks in advance.</div> <div><br/></div>© 2009 Microsoft Corporation. There is also nothing special about the ones where it does work.</div> <div><br/></div> <div>If I create a template from A or B, and then create another library from the template, then I get all the SCT columns, so I can get the desired result. I guess I  can live with that, BUT I would like to get to the bottom of the problem.</div>Fri, 03 Jul 2009 16:10:05 Z2009-07-03T16:10:05Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/3e5e46a2-b612-4507-8b84-18b21c53730e#6caa9620-e12f-4242-baa6-87cbd8dfaf65http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/3e5e46a2-b612-4507-8b84-18b21c53730e#6caa9620-e12f-4242-baa6-87cbd8dfaf65baltibobhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=baltibobContent Type Columsn not being added to a libraryUpdate - The template method resulted in additional headaches since the template also includes the worflows associated witht the document library from which the template was created. So I now have a document library that includes the desired colums from the content type, but workflows that I dont want.Mon, 06 Jul 2009 09:43:29 Z2009-07-06T09:43:29Z
