All you will have is a full copy of your existing system at the time the databases were used. Changes made to one will not go to the other.
WSS FAQ sites: http://wssv2faq.mindsharp.com and http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com
Total list of WSS 3.0 / MOSS 2007 Books (including foreign language) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/Lists/v3%20WSS%20FAQ/V%20Books.aspxSat, 04 Jul 2009 14:21:30 Z2009-07-04T14:27:38Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/426c4d7f-116c-4194-8219-23ea36477c25#14601b9f-ad60-41cb-b456-dfad8e4c36b8http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/426c4d7f-116c-4194-8219-23ea36477c25#14601b9f-ad60-41cb-b456-dfad8e4c36b8Irishkid35http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Irishkid35New Installation of SharepointIt is MOSS 2007. So I make a backup of all the databases from the 1st installation and restore them on a second sql server instance. After that How do I rebuild them on the Sharepoint side?Sat, 04 Jul 2009 14:50:51 Z2009-07-04T14:50:51Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/426c4d7f-116c-4194-8219-23ea36477c25#7961c22b-73c7-498f-bbaa-097b4cc218a0http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/426c4d7f-116c-4194-8219-23ea36477c25#7961c22b-73c7-498f-bbaa-097b4cc218a0Mike Walsh MVPhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Mike%20Walsh%20MVPNew Installation of Sharepoint> After that How do I rebuild them on the Sharepoint side?

Look at some Microsoft documentation.

I was thinking more in terms of specifying the use of the database(s) when installing MOSS 2007.
WSS FAQ sites: http://wssv2faq.mindsharp.com and http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com
Total list of WSS 3.0 / MOSS 2007 Books (including foreign language) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/Lists/v3%20WSS%20FAQ/V%20Books.aspxSat, 04 Jul 2009 15:11:12 Z2009-07-04T15:11:57Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/426c4d7f-116c-4194-8219-23ea36477c25#6c09bc5e-3be4-4b6a-9b8d-e099299b5906http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/426c4d7f-116c-4194-8219-23ea36477c25#6c09bc5e-3be4-4b6a-9b8d-e099299b5906Irishkid35http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Irishkid35New Installation of SharepointI guess a backup from within sharepoint and then restoring to a new sharepoint site is not an option?Sat, 04 Jul 2009 15:24:14 Z2009-07-04T15:24:14Z
