"There are no products affected by this package installed on this system" when trying to apply any of the hot fixes post SP2 for MOSS
-
Tuesday, January 19, 2010 2:22 AMI am trying to patch our instance of MOSSS 2007 running on Win2008 64 bit server but it wont install any of the hot fixes (or so I thought).
I need to patch up to April 2009 so I can import a site from another server (differnent compnay).
When I looked in the Add/remove programmes it had 13 entries for KB971537 (June update) even though it siad it didnt load and I can uninstall it.
I ran the Sharepoint Products and Technologies Configuration utility but the version wont change from 12.0.0.6421 I need to get to 12.0.0.6504 as a minimum
any thoughts appreciated

Hi,
Please double check whether your update version is identical to your SharePoint server’s version. For example, install x64 updates on a x86 MOSS server will cause this error.
Also, please pay attention to that each update has two version, one is for WSS server, the other is for SharePoint server 2007. Make sure you select the right one.
For more information about how to install MOSS and WSS April CU, please refer to the following articles:

Wednesday, February 03, 2010 2:39 AMThanks Rock,
I applied October CU 2009 (both WSS and MOSS) for the x64 platform and it applied ok.
I'm not sure why the earlier ones didnt apply.
Issue now resolved.
Craig
