Waiting for SP3 vs installing October cumulative?
- We have WSS3 SP2 and have now watched no fewer than four cumulative updates arrive, the latest being KB975002 from last week. Taken together, the list of fixes is staggering, and there are several fixes in them that we'd like to have. We're a little cautious about updates, however, and while MS routinely recommends upgrading to the latest SP+latest cumulative, I'm wondering if SP3 is around the corner, say, within a couple months. If it is we can wait. If not, we'll update with KB975002.

- I have heard and seen nothing about SP3. The MS SharePoint team is very busy at the moment with the new version. I doubt if we'll see any SP3 for the present version until mid 2010.

- Thanks for the input. It probably does make sense that they would put one out around that time, not just because it'll be high time by then but because they may need to align v3 with v4 in some ways.
