I have deployed WSS 3.0 in DMZ, that is exposed for internet and is not connected with corporate's domain. Remote users gets authenticated to WSS site using ADLDS instance. I have been able to successfully hook up the ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider and my site successfully uses forms base authentication. However, I cannot find out how to add AD groups to my sharepoint groups. I can add AD users all day long, but it never sees security groups in people picker.
Appreciate if anyone has found a solution to pick ADLDS Seurity groups using ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider.

When you use ActiveDIrectoryMembershipProvider, you can use ADRoleProvider to achieve that. Simply stated, ADRoleProvider is a role provider class that allows you to use your existing Active Directory groups as ASP.NET Roles, and attempts to provide that framework as easily as ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider provides your membership framework.
For more information about how to configure Active Directory Roles Provider, please refer to the following articles:

Hope this helps.
