Configuared the sharepoint step by Stpe

1. Added the user Account of SSPAdmin with Administrator Privilages

2. Installed the Dot Net Frame Work 3 With the U/name

3. Installed the SQL Developer Edition

4. Installed the Sharepoint in Advanced Mode with U/Name

5. Started the service Bottom to Top with U/Name

6. Created the Web Application of Administration Host POrt80 with Same U/N

7. While creating a new SSP

8. In DNS created Host Records for 1) SSPADmin 2) My Site 3) Intranet

ERROR GENERATING WHILE CREATING A NEW SSP

Shared Services Provider Creation Failed.

Reason:Thread was being aborted.

Check the event log for details.

NoteSP provisioning will be retried periodically. If you correct the error that caused this failure, provisioning will subsequently succeed. To stop provisioning from being retried,delete the SSP.

I had this problem last fall and I think that I ended up using stsadm to correct it. For whatever reason, stsadm allowed me to create the SSP while the web UI would not.

I'm reaching back pretty far but I think that's what I did.
