Hi, I've just installed Sharepoint Office Server 2007 on a windows 2003 x64 server.  I'm new to this and following step by step the instructions from a sharepoint MCTS Sharepoint Server Study guide.  I've gotten through the setup wizard and have deployed the Central Administration site.  In the set up guide I have it says that when I get to the Shared Services Administration page under the Application Management tab I should see a node titled SharedServices (Default) with two links under it titled Sharepoint - <localhost port #> (administrator site host)
    and Sharepoint - 80
The problem is I don't see these default values.  Is this a problem or should I see these?  If I should see these values, how do I correct this?  Thank you in advance.

Unless you do a basic or stand-alone install, they won't be setup.  You have to create the SSP manually.  In the MCTS book, look at the next section on creating a new SSP.  That will get you up to speed.
