"Unable to connect to report server WMI Provider"
"Unable to connect to report server WMI Provider"
- I have 3 tier Environment.
Windows 2008 environment in all servers
on First tier i have SQL Server 2008 RTM +SP1.
Second server i have configured Report server+SharePoint(Wss)
ThirdServer i have Wss Server+Add-in.
For report server,Wss server,Farm i am using only one service account (i am using one service account every where in my 3 servers). This service account has SysDba privillagee in Sql server 2008
my first server with SQL is Working good.Second with Report service is also good.but in share point server when i am configuring "Grand DatabaseAccess"
It is asking me for Report server name so i am giving my Resport server name then it is asking me for Service Account name and password so i am using same service account username and password which i am using Everywhere in all servers but it is giving me error like."Unable to connect to report server WMI Provider"
Is it ok to use one service account everywhere?
BEcause of one service account this problem is happening or what?
if some body has perfect sollution let me know step by step i need help immediately
thank you in advance
I have tried following sollutions:-
1)Install Report server and central admin on one server but same errror.

- We are having the same issue. We are unable to use shared data sources with user credentials in our reports. I have SPN's on the service account that should be okay.
Bryan Shaw hi,Thanks for quick reply
Can you please describe SPN in more detail?
i am also not able to Connect to Database also wth service account given by my company and it has all rights in 3 servers.
can you please tell me step by step what do i need to do to solve this problem?- Sure, but it probably will not fix the problem. It did not fix ours. On the domain controller, run adsiedit.msc and on the left panel select Users.
On the right panel, right-click on your service user and select properties. Select one property and then type s (this will scroll down to the s's faster) then find Service Principal Name. If you are having an issue with Kerberos and it is complaining about an unknown principal name, then this is how you fix it. hi,
we are not using kerbros.
so any other sollution- Ignore it. Its a bug. Even if you get this error the integration of reporting services with MOSS will work fine. It worked fine for me.

If you cannot grant database access aka tell MOSS where is the report server, how are you suppose to make it work? Iframe?
