    Hi all

I have this irritating little problem that when I edit the page, which is custom page layout, the title disappears.  When I search, I get hits on pagesname.aspx, but I want it to get hit on the title only. I have tried to put the title field on mye page layout inside an edit mode panel, but this doesn't seem to help.

Any tips here will be most appreciated. :-)

    Regards.

    Hi,

You mentioned you have customized a layout page. I had customized a layout page but I didn't come across the issue.

Could you please give me more details how you create the custom layout page?

Just for your information, here are some articles help you to create and customize layout page.

    ·         Create a publishing page layout (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointdesigner/HA101741281033.aspx)

    ·         Customize a publishing page layout (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointdesigner/HA101741291033.aspx)

    ·         Set the preferred site templates and page layouts (section in About page layout and site template settings)

Hope the information can be helpful.

from the page library try to use the edit properties option from the actions menu and see what title is it showing there, try changing it from that page and is it still showing .aspx title or the new one?

The problem is that the title box gets blank when I have edited the page. If I type in a title and then publish the page it will keep the title, but when I edit the page again, the title field will get blank.
