AnswerSharePoint files dissappeared after renaming folder

I had trouble uploading certain files to SharePoint because the folder names were too long. I then renamed the folders to make in shorter and commenced uploading the documents. This time there were no problems uploading the documents. However, after renaming the folder name all the files already loaded intoi the folder were gone. As in it never existed... The only things remaining were the folder structures that were set up a week prior. Is there any way that I can get them back?

    Hi

In SharePoint 2003, if you rename a file or folder in a Document Library and if you have Content Approval turned on then they will disappear from view until you approve the changes
