Minimum ports required by WSS 3.0 to function?
- I am looking to setup up a new install of Sharepoint (WSS).
My question is what would be the minimum number of ports on the firewall do I have to open to have a functioning site.
I know ports 80 & 443 are required.
Or is there a "secured" configuration where a bare minimum of WSS options turned on and minimum of open firewall ports required?
Also is there a complied list of required ports tied to the WSS options/functions?

- As others already mentioned there are several Microsoft documents and blog posts that describe the ports. Unfortunatelly, there is no single document that summarize all information together.
Some time ago I looked throught all sources and extracted ports, creating the single document with all used ports, and what's the most important with directions - inbound or outbound

There are no constraints regarding port number... even you can use 80 port for your SharePoint WebApplication.
