I simply would like to know is it possible to change the system account for a MOSS Farm? We have a few moss farms within a network and stupidly are using the same accounts to run both farms *sigh*...

I'm trying to break away from the other credentials and would like to populate new service accounts everywhere. I pretty much understand how to change all other accounts..

How do you change the System Account? also how do i change the identity of the Central Admin app Pool.

    Before you reply know this..

    I have already tried

How to change the Application Pool Identity for SharePoint Central Administration (SCA)     from this article http://justsharepoint.com/howto-change-service-accounts-and-their-passwords/

And it doesn't change anything it seems...

    Joseph,

The article is correct but here's the official from Microsoft....

You also need to do this on all machines in the farm, also don't forget the iisreset...

When you make the change you can verify it by going to services, sort until you see Microsoft  SharePoint and then look at the users ID running the service.  One very important thing, make sure the new user has the correct rights in SQL server, you should also make the new user the owner over the associated DBs.

    Thanks Kris
