Can't create Sharepoint task via Outlook
- I have connected a Sharepoint task list to my Outlook using the "Connect to Outlook" option. However, if I try to create a task from Outlook, no matter what I put into the "Assigned To" field, Outlook gives me the message "Microsoft Office does not recognize "Person X." I am guessing that it is looking for my name in my Outlook contacts, but I assigning it to a Sharepoint user. How do I fix this? Thanks.

- Try using their email address instead of their name.
Mike Smith TechTrainingNotes.blogspot.com - Thanks for the reply. It does create a task if I use the email address, but in the task created it doesn't use the correct Sharepoint username of the person whose email address I entered. For example, I type johndoe@gmail.com into assigned, and the task item ends up being assigned to "johndoe" rather than "John Doe." I would also rather not have to put someone's email instead of their actual name. I should also mention that if I leave the "assigned to" field blank, it also will create a task item. I just can't enter a Sharepoint user name and have it work.
- IS your Outlook connected to Exchange Server 2007 or higher? If it is, if you default address book in Outlook set to Global (to look at Exchange server)?
