I receive "An unexpected error. Changes to your data cannot be saved" trying to import a spreadsheet from Custom Lists  I am using MOSS 2007 Enterprise on a Server with Windows 2007.  Here are the steps that I perform:

    1. From Lists I click on "Create"
    2. Under "Custom Lists", I select "Import Spreadsheet"
    3. I type the Name, Description and Select a MS Word 2007 spreadsheet.
    4. When I click "Import" I then select the range of cells and click "Import"
    5. I then receive an error: "An unexpected error has occurred. Changes to yur data cannot be saved"

I have tried two suggestions so far on the forums.... repairs to installations, adding to trusted sites with no luck. Anyone know the solution??

Maybe it has to do with the actual data.  When importing, SharePoint is extremely picky about the format of the data in the spreadsheet.  Row 1 must be column titles, and the data must start at row 2.
Try troubleshooting this issue by creating a very simple spreadsheet with just 2 or 3 columns and 2 or 3 rows.  See if you still get the error, then you'll have a better idea where the problem lies.
