I am in Microsoft Office Visio 2007 SP2, on my Microsoft Windows 7 Professional x64 system and I open a read only copy of Visio on our SharePoint Server 2007 Enterprise system.  I often get an error:
    Microsoft Office Visio
"Unable to save the document to the specified local folder. The document is now checked out to you on the Web server."  OK.

    Next error after selecting OK.

    Microsoft Office Visio
"An error (106) occurred during the action Check Out File.  Bad disk failure."  OK.

We use Trend Micro's OfficeScan 10.0 SP1 as our antivirus.

I see in: C:\Users\mcarter\Documents\SharePoint Drafts (the file I am trying to work on) which is probably why it's Read Only.

In Microsoft Office Visio 2007 (12.0.6423.1000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000), I go to File, (I want to check the file out, or Check Out, but I can only Check In or Discard Check Out).  The Title Bar has (Filename).vsd [Read-Only] - Microsoft Visio, so it's not "checked out" or at least not to me.  If I go to File Close, I am asked to save changes.  I select yes, to save changes and it says "This file is read-only.  To save a copy, click OK, then give the document a new name in the Save As dialog box."  OK.  I see that I am on http://MOSS.server.com/..../DocumentLibrary/(Visiofilename) and I go to save Drawing (*.vsd) file and I click Save, and it says - Save As "This file is open read-only in this instance of Visio." OK.
I click File, Close, and it askes if I want to Save, I click No.  Microsoft Office Visio - "This document is still checked out to you.  Would you like to discard the check out to allow others to edit the document?" Yes No Cancel.  Uhhh who is checking out this document?  I click Yes and then I have no file.
I click File, Open and scroll through to the file on the http://MOSS.server.com/..../DocumentLibrary/(Visiofilename) and open it.  I have [Read-Only] in the Title Bar.  I click File, Check Out and I get the same error as the one above, "Unable to save the document to the specified local folder.

I unloaded Trend Micro's Officescan and I was able to Open and Check Out the file.
