    Hi,


    I have a file which is on the network place  and would to access to the file.

    I added a link :\\10.32.1.5\foldername\

    but this link does not work at my end. Any link with http:// works but network file server does not work.

    I just got one link to have solution but at one point i did not find step 6 : Select "Link to a Document", click Add and then Click OK(I find different items to add but missing 'Link to a Document' at my end).  I am using Sharepoint 2010.

    Hello,

    Reason of not having content types in the list:

    1. The Link to Document content types has been added
    2. Feature related to the content types has not been activated

    Since Link to Document is default content type, then reason #1 is probably the most reasonable. You may also select incorrect content types groups, so in that case try to select all content types.
