Turn on Diacritics-sensitive search for WSS 3.0
Hello:
Without getting too much into the weeds, I'm attempting to turn on diacritics-sensitive search in WSS 3.0 SP2, on my one application machine running Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise SP2. There doesn't seem to be an operator to do this, is there?
Here is my output:

Hi,
You can use the operation “Spsearchdiacriticsensitive” to enable or disables the diacritic sensitivity setting in Wss3.0.
For more information about this Stsadm operation, please refer to: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc287887.aspx
Hope it helps.

- Adding Search Server 2008 Express on top of WSS 3.0 will give you more search options (don't chose the default "use the existing site" in the installation but create a new one) than the basic search List or Site in WSS 3.0.
(Roughly equivalent to MOSS search without People Search).
But as I haven't a clue what a diacritics-sensitive search is I can't say whether it includes that. Somehow I doubt it.

- Thank you Xue-Mei, this did solve my issue.
Thank you Mike, for your answer. To reply, we are also using Microsoft Office Project Server 2007, without MOSS, in our production environment, so we are not able to install SSE.
Looking forward to 2010!
