Unanswered Sharepoint 2007 search not working for recent items added to site.

    Hi,

    I have a search page as shown below in my sharepoint site. It is working perfectly for items which is added before august month but not showing any result for recent added items.

    Please help me out from this problem.

    have you checked your crawl log to see when the last successful crawl was completed and whether new items were included?  That's the first place to look.  Here's how to view your crawl log.

    Hi Paul,

    Thanks for ur quick rply.

    yes i have checked the crawl log. it has two errors showing like "The item may be too large or corrupt. You may also verify that you have the latest version of this IFilter.".

    How to check whether new items are included?

    Find the address of a new item that isn't showing up in search and use the filtering of the crawl log to make sure it was indexed.

    Recently added items are not exists in crawl log. Last added item is of last week. Please suggest me what to do to include all items and why these items are not added?

    If crawls are taking place, which you say they are and the new items are not in the crawl log then there is something wrong with your search settings.  It could be any number of things.  It could be a permissions issue on the new items that the content crawl account can't see them.  Or it could be that they aren't included in the content sources defined on the system, or it could be that there is a crawl rule that excludes them from being crawled.  Or it could be that the library where they are being stored is set to be exempt from crawl.  Without knowing your system there is no way to predict which it is.  Now that you know they aren't being crawled you have to figure out why.  I would start with the settings of the library and site where the new items are to make sure they haven't been excluded from Search.
