Hello,
I want to set a custom scope to search only Contact content type.
So i access to SSP Search Setting and i allow ContenType property to
be used in scopes. Then i create scope called ContactScope, applying the rule based
on property ContentType = Contact. And it doesn't works, items found
are 0.
I do the same task on FileExtension property ( = doc) just to verify
if error should be about crawling, refresh, reset, or just the way of entering data; but it works.
(i try to set property rule ContentType = 0x0116 and then = 0116,
as Contact has that id on Content Type Settings (/_layouts/
ManageContentType.aspx?ctype=0x0116)
If i type on search box: contenttype:"contact" (or "document" or no
matter what CT) it works
Anyone has faced this problem or have info o trace
Thanks all

I also had issues getting the Search Scopes to work. I have to get back to it to check if the issues been fully resolved but my problem was because of incorrect comparison of values.

Thursday, January 07, 2010 5:02 PMHi,
Did you ever find a resolution to this problem?
I am faced with a similiar issue. I have three contenttypes but only have issues with two of them.
The one that works fine has a Visio 07 template.
The two that do not work are Word 07 temlates. The strange thing is that after the content is crawled and I update the scopes, the first element I created of both of the two content types will show up in the respective scope; however, no other elements of that content type will. -
