    Moving to Search.

Please give more details - for instance how you know it was a crawl error.

    Hi

I dont think the problem is related to the crawling. As the error say "A disk error occurred during a read operation"

Try looking in the eventlog (System and Application) on farm servers - look for errors and warnings

I'm afraid the account defined for the crawler doesn't have the right to read/access his content.
You can modify it in Central Admin->Shared Services->serach->search settings->Default content access account.

The error indicates that the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer, probably cannot log on as a service.

If the affected account was logged in the error message, please try to Add the Log on as a service right to an account to resolve your issue.

If the affected account was logged in the error message, please try to grant the Office SharePoint Search Account with Log on as a service right.

Hope the information can be helpful.

Could you please create a content source for one or some the affected documents and crawl the particular content source to see if the content source can be crawled?

If not, could you please let me know the crawl log?

Hope the information can be helpful.

    Hi,
I've the same issue but I think that the error is connected with file because I created another web application->site collection->document library and I uploaded a doc that are generating crawl error.
I configured another content source into search and I have the same issue: only for that doc I've "A disk error occurred during a read operation. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8003001E (STG_E_READFAULT))"

This strange behaviour are not blocking search, because all my file affected are available into search page.

    Hi,

Actually, the crawl performance  depends on a lot of constrains like:
    - Disk Read/writes
    - Network bandwidth
    - Resources availability of the  index server and SQL server.

    THIS IS Crawling performance issue.

Please perform increamental crawl again and check crawl logs.

    Thanks,
    Yogesh.
