What is the way to get the exact results in the fast search server for sharepoint?

while search in the fast search server for sharepoint is made for the keyword say '00.01' search is considering special character as the space so that i m getting unwanted results which contains '00], [01'.
the query used to search is
phrase("00.01")
please povide the way to get the exact matchs for the search.
