Customising MySites
Hello All,
I am currently in the process of completing our MLE implementation. I have completed the VLE works perfectly thanks MS! The problem we have now is the "MySites" We want to make is simple for our students to use these websites. I have created "face book" like themes etc to get them in the mood to use it. The problem i have faced is to add our MIS web parts automatically and configuring the OWA web parts. Are there simple ways of doing this? Any suggestions would be amazing!!! Thanking you in advance

Hi Lee,
Glad to know Laura answered part of your question.
For custom the web part in my sites, you got the right direction of using staplee feature.
See Customizing MOSS 2007 My Sites within the enterprise for more information.
I’m not sure which feature you used in CodePlex, here is a feature should be helpful for your issue: http://www.codeplex.com/CKS/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=2824
And you could refer the ReadMe for samples.

- SharePoint Online does not currently support MySites. You will have more luck getting a response from the SharePoint forums. I'll move this thread.

Thank you very much for your reply worked a charm!!!! The only issues i now face to adding specific webparts to the Mysite when then create. I have tried the staplee feature from the codeplex site. However the creation loading section just freezes and requires me to delete the personal site and remove the code before continuing.
I hope i can get some help with this soon as i have a dealine to keep to.
Once again, thank you for your help.
Thanks
Lee
Hello Lambert,
Laura’s response was perfect. Solve an issue we had been experiencing for days. The only problem we are still experiencing is the MySite customisation with regards to adding and removing web parts.
Do you have any information on this aspect of SharePoint 2007?
Many Thanks
