QuestionSP 2 upgrade problem - "The My Site of SPAdmin is scheduled for deletion"

Last weekend my company upgrade to SP2.  All of that went pretty smoothly, but on Friday morning I was surprised to find the following email in my mailbox:

"The My Site of SPAdmin is scheduled for deletion. As their manager you are now the temporary owner of their site. This temporary ownership gives you access to the site to copy any business-related information you might need. To access the site use this URL: http://mysite.xyz.com/personal/spadmin"

This was a surprise to me since I wasn't aware that our SPAdmin account had a MySite, (it's our generic admin account for SP).  I went and looked and it had been created 4 days earlier (during the upgrade someone must have accidentally clicked on the MySite link while logged in as SPAdmin I assume).

Well the biggest question was why was it marked for deletion?  We don't have any of the auto-site deletion options turned on, (we went through every web app to make sure), and even if we did, the site was only 4 days old.  Nothing about it should have triggered an auto-delete rule yet.

We can't figure out when it is scheduled to be deleted, how we go about preventing that from happening, or how we keep this from happening to other MySites.

SP grabbed my name from the manager field in AD, and then put my userid in as the secondary SC admin for that site, which was handy, but what about the 75% of my company that doesn't have that info set up in their AD accounts?  If those Mysites somehow had this happen no one would know until after the fact.

If anyone can give me any clues as to why this happened, or what I should do about it, I would be most appreciative.

    Thanks.
    Ted
