Get the display name from the user column using the SPD
Get the display name from the user column using the SPD
- Hi allI am using the SPD to do a workflow. There is a column whose type is user&group. I want to get the user's display name like *** ***, not domian\account. But I always get the account from the SPD. Is there any method to get the display name from the user column?Best Regards.

Chiqnlips used calculated column to achieve this requirement. I have not tested yet but I think it worth trying. You can see the article below for the detailed steps:

- Change the field (column) so that it displays the display name (it is configurable) and use that data.

Welcome to my Blog http://jdxyw.blogspot.com - Wow, hmm. Only other way I know to get it for sure is within InfoPath using the UserProfileService, which retrieves profile info. SPD 2010 has this built-in to its actions for SP2010, but they didn't add it to SPD 2007.
