    Friends,

I have been getting this error. Can anyone help me doing this. I am trying to associate a simple approval workflow to a document library with content type to it.

I am seeing a Failed to Start (Retrying) message at the start of the workflow sometimes and at the end of the workflow. This error is very intermittent. When i see the error log, i am getting the below error log.

    Severity:  Error

    Status:  New

    Source:  Windows SharePoint Services 3

Name:  Windows Sharepoint Services 3 Errors

Description:  Error loading and running event receiver Microsoft.SharePoint.Workflow.SPWorkflowAutostartEventReceiver in Microsoft.SharePoint, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c. Additional information is below.

: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Can anyone help me with this.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chakri

    Hi

Is your simple workflow a built in workflow?
You can have a test on another document library. If this issue only occurred on this specific library, a workaround is to save it as a template and then create a new library based on this template.
In this way, you will continue to work with the original contents.

If problem exists on other document libraries, please refer to this reference to repair Windows SharePoint Services Installation.
