Here's the story:
We have two servers:
SBS 2011 + Standard Server 2008 r2
Recently NPS service failed to start on SBS2011, spent long time but couldn't figure out how, therefore decided to put NPS on Standard server 2008r2.
NPS works fine.
As SBS has Remote workplace, due to the TS gateway service couldn't start as NPS service couldn't start on SBS. I am wondering if TS gateway role can be added on Standard server 2008r2, thus help the remote workplace to run? As i know, TS gateway on SBS is really a proper one compare to normal Standard server 2008 r2
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
Thank you

Seems like you would be better rewarded troubleshooting the NPS error.
What happens when you try to start the service, and what errors are in the event logs around that?

Hi,
Please check the event logs record in NPS server. Detailed NPS event logs will logged under Event Viewer\Custom Views\Server Roles\Network Policy and Access Services.
Best Regards,
