Answered SBS2003 to SBS2011 Migration Preparation Tool Errors

    Hi,

    We have removed all the error that the migration tools was giving us except these :

    1. Error is found in DNS Zone rfaassurance.local
      We went to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2578426 and did everything they suggested but we still have this error.
    2. Some FSMO roles are missing on the source Windows SBS server
      Same thing, its the same webpage, we still have the error.
      Even the command "NETDOM QUERY FSMO" says the source server has all the roles..   
    3. The last is a warning that Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 SP3 is not installed
      It is installed and listed in add/remove programs...

    I did a lot of reaserch on these errors and tried a lot of things but nothing really works.
    Can somebody help me with these?

    Can you run a netdiag /v and a dcdiag on your SBS to see if that shows up any issues?

    What does the SBS BPA say about your server? does it also flag up the missing SharePoint SP?

    The SBS BPA is saying that the Sharepoint Service 2.0 is installed and that SP3 is availlable.

    It also says that the Windows SBS 2003 Service Pack 1 is not installed. (Wich is true, but we installed the SP2, SP1 should be include in the SP2, right?)

    It says that task Offloading is enabled, That the POP3 connector should be upgraded to SP1 and that the ClientApps shared folder path changed.

    There is also an entry "DNS client is not configured" : The DNS Client is no tconfigured to point only to the internal IP address of the server. Wich is true because we use a router for the DHCP and internet access.

    Regarding DNS issue, you can check the following:

    DNS Client not configured

    The DNS client is not configured to point only to the internal IP address of the server.
