hi there,
I have been called in to look at a new clients SBS 2011 setup.
the person who setup or the person who managed it before has seriously messed up the ISS structure.
Company web doesnt work, WSUS is missing, ( cannot reinstall) and it took a fair bit of rebuilding the Exchange VDirs- to get them to work.
What I was wondering is is there way to hose the IIS and reinstall all web services with the default configuration? basically a reinstall ofCompany Web, Web APPS, OWA and Exchnage VDIRS and WSUS.
And force it to take all default settings?
Thanks
Graeme

Sadly not.
I am also wondering if this is related to another thread posted recently?
We advised that person to speak to PSS.
WSUS can usually be reinstalled using the downloaded setup file from Microsoft.
What is happening to Company Web?
If IIS is really screwed, IMO, it is time to restore from backup, or call PSS.

Hi Robert,
I think there is a redirect set somewhere which I cannot find and undo.
compnay Web redirects to RWW, and when you login, and choose internal website you get redirected back to RWW again.
WSUS, when installed from the download, says it all worked but when you load the WSUS console it doesnt connect to the local server.
BPA shows that everything is compliant, with no errors.
I have a suspicion that if I locate the redirect it would all start working again, and then the fixes Ms list would work if required, but this redirect is seriously screwing things up.

HI,
Weir I spent hours looking at this weeks ago and couldnt see it and now I find that every V-dir had a http redirect to https:remote.domain.com
Took all them off and it sort of works now, WSUS is working, after a reinstall, company web is working, RWW is working.
But if you come to RWW and then select internal company website, it gives page not found.
should I start that as a new question.

Hi,
At first, could you please let me know what you have done before the issue occurred?
The WSUS will be found in the Server Manager. It’s a feature included in the Windows Server 2008 R2. Towards the OWA, Web Company, Web Apps issue, it seems that the issue is related to the IIS corruption. Maybe the ASP.NET is included too.
Please visit the website below on your server to verify the issue:
And post back your output result.
In the IIS manager, please browse the SBS Web Application site, and let me know the returned webpage.
Regards,
James

Hi There,
we have resolved the issue completely now.
The problem with the websites not working is that each IIS V-dir had and HTTP redirect set to https://remote.domain.com
Removed that and we were able to get SharePoint, RWW and WSUs working.
RWW not able to access internal website was due to port 987 not being opened on the firewall.
Thanks for everyeone assistance.
