Migrating from SBS2008 to SBS2001 - Ex 2007 SP3 Installation

Hi All
I've been trying to migrate our company server from SBS2008 to SBS2001, both of which are running as VM's. I have followed the instructions as per Microsoft direction: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg615494.aspx. I carry out the analyser and it tells me that I need to install Exchanger Server 2007 SP3. However when it comes to installing Ex2007 SP3 again as per Microsoft instruction http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982423 I keep receiving the error that 'Exchange Server setup encountered an error'.
My questions are:
Has anybody come across this problem before and if so how did you overcome it?
Any assistance on this infuriating problem would be appreciated.

Some steps you can try
1.Stop all Anti-Virus activity on the system that will be the target for the ExchangeServer 2007 Sp3 install.
2.Re-Download the ExchangeServer 2007 Sp3 file.
3. Make sure the ExchangeServer 2007 installation files are local to the server you will be installing to.If all above fails post exchangesetup.log.

Hi,
After failing in installing the Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3 on SBS, I think you need to find the detailed information in the Exchange setup logging file to verify the issue.
I think Mohitkapoor’s suggestions are good; it’s worth trying towards your issue. At the same time, you could run the Exchange BPA and SBS BPA to have a general health check on your server.
Any findings, please feel free to post back.

Mohitkapoor
Thanks for the advice, I've carried out Steps 1-3 as you have suggested but to no avail. I'll post the exchangesetup.log in a couple of days.
Regards
