Hi
I have seen a lot of older posts mentioning that GAL Segragation is not yet supported on Exchange 2010 (SBS 2011). Is this still the case or has it been updated?
On an SBS 2011 server how would i achieve the following:
Two Separate GALS.
Users in OU 1 (Also in Organization 1) to see the default GAL
Users in OU 2 (Also in Organization 2) to see a different GAL (We will call it GAL 2 from here on out)
Users in OU 2 should be hidden from the Default GAL
Users in OU 1 should be hidden from GAL 2
Please if anyone can let me know if this is possible, and if so how to achieve it?
Thanks in advance!
Ben

Hi,
you are right about GAL segmentation, this is obly possible with Exchange 2010 hosted mode. This is a special installation of exchange 2010 with no gui and several other stuff. Because this is a special installation it is not the same as within SBS 2011, which includes the normal installation.
But to continue Microsoft already discontinued this hosted mode, with Exchange 2010 SP2 they introduced Address Book policies, which is not completly the same as GAL segmentation but it gives us the possibility to built Address books separated from each other. You can just built two different policies for both OU's as you described above.
For more information please see this blog post of Jaap Wesselius (a Exchange MVP) about address book policies: http://www.jaapwesselius.com/2011/10/27/new-in-exchange-2010-sp2-address-book-policies/
