My problem is this, I know that some of the files on my SBS2008 Server have been deleted. We tried to restore from backup, but it seems there are a lot of system files have not restored properly & some not at all. Is there a way to repair the server without reinstalling it?

Thanks for you suggestions & help.

    Hi,

There is a SBS 2008 repair guide, and there is a specific part for repairing the console.

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd430086(v=ws.10).aspx

    Hope this helps

    Thanks Ronny,

I have attempted to use the repair console ... problem is once I click Change I receive this message,"Windows SBS2008 Maintenance has stop working." I'm also not able to open the Server Manager or any MMC snap-in, including the event views.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

System files deleted? with eventvwr or mmc also not working seems more like you have serious issues with .net framework . Have you verified  all .net framework versions are intact?
