My company is a CPA firm with 5 employees. I went to Dell.com and found the price difference of the SBS 2011 and SBS 2011 essentials was about $350. I did not need virtual exhange server. One important thing is using RWW (remote web workplace) to access computers in office from my home. I heard someone told me I could not open application software ( Peachtree, Proseries, etc) from remote computer (home), but I can access data file only from remote computer (home PC). Is that tree or not? Thanks.

Yes SBS 2011 Essentials and the newer Server 2012 Essentials have RWA (Remote Web Access). It does give you the capability to connect to workstations in the office. If the applications open on the office workstation then you should have no problems doing the same with RWA.

Please check the below blog:
If you want to give access to domain joined clients to your users and if you are using Self-issues cert on Server (Can be found under SBS cosole >> Networking >> Connectivity >> Certificate) then you may need to provide certificate instalaltion pacakage for your users, so that they can install then on their PCs back at home.
To understand the process distrubuting Certificate Instalaltion Pacakage follow the below blog:
I hope this helps.
