    Hi all

I'm looking for some help on SBS Essentials 2011 install.

Downloaded the evaluation copy (180 days) and it doesn't complete the installation process.

It gets petty far into the process performing multiple reboots. Then it hangs at the Microsoft start up window (the one that looks like Kit's bar from Knight Rider).

Only able to cirumvent this by using F8 and applying last settings. Then can only boot in safe mode and find the DNS is set to 127.0.0.1. Changed this to dynamic.

Then boots but netlogon service is not running, set this to auto in services through safe mode. Then boots normally - cannot contact domain controller and so can only boot into workstation mode. Once in workstation mode it tries to finish up installation but just fails and offers to reboot.

So basically in a nutshell the DOMAIN controller is not working. I've tried to install this 2x onto a HP Proliant server (formerly had 2003 server on there with no issues).

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks
    Richard

    Hi Richard:

Hard to tell from here.  The usual suspects are:  No local router, the router is not DHCP enabled, the router is not in the 192.168 subnet, or cannot be contacted for other/physical reasons, or the installation medial is faulty.  We have seen a fair amount of that, so if all else fails, try a fresh download.
