Does SBS2011 Essentials automatically and periodically update DNS with an ISP provided dynamic WAN IP Address?
Yes, RWA is working, yes a certificate is installed. But no, the ISP's dynamic ip address has not changed since installation. I understand that with SBS 2011 standard the server can periodically update select providers (godaddy) with domain name info; 'Internet Domain Name' to allow the use of a dynamic WAN IP from and internet service provider.

This is not a serve feature for sure. Server will receive the requests which are forwarded from ISP or Public DNS. If your ISP or Public DNS is capabile of picking up the new public IP everytime and update the public DNS records (Mostly not possible to update them quickly) then you can go ahead with this. Else you have to go with DynDNS (3rd party) solution to create a static route (a term that is better to make you understand) to your server from random Public IP address. But as per my knowledge, recommended is to have a static Public IP would be better option to aviod any kind to furture issues.
Let me know if I you have any more questions.

Since sbs 2011 standard does update select providers with dynamic dns without the use of DynDNS or others, Is there a way to add that feature to essentials?

Essentials can also update GoDaddy or Enom dns if your domain is hosted there.
Alternativley on Essentials you can use the free *.remotewebaccess.com service provided by microsoft (which includes an SSL Certificate) and that will function perfectly well with a dynamic wan IP address.
