I have a scenario where my mirroring setup is between 2 different version of sql server. My principal is in SQL Server 2005, where as my Mirror instance is in sql server 2008 R2. The setup is high performance with asynchronous mirroring
Everything is fine and data is synchronised, mirroring is healty.
My question is, what will happen if there is a failover. Will mirroring be still working? I read in some artcile published that mirroring from sql server 2005 to SQl server 2008 R2 will work, but the reverse is not possible. I understand this stands true if the compatibility level of database is different.
But what if the compatibility level is the same, i.e 90. Will the mirroring work from sql server 2008 R2 to Sql server 2005?
Please help. Thanks a million in advance.
